2017 IPN Region 5 Winter Seminar, Ames, Saturday, 28. January 2017

You can expect another great gathering of prairie folks to cure your cabin fever! This event is free and open to the public.

Doors open at 11:30 with the program starting at 12:30.

There will be 20+ displays and vendors to visit before the program and during breaks, including original artwork, photography, nature-related books, and conservation organizations and services.

The following PRESENTATIONS have been confirmed:

- "Funding Iowa's Water and Land Legacy (IWILL) - Making it over the finish line in 2017 and other conservation funding issues" presented by Joe McGovern, president of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation

- "Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge - The 25 year journey" presented by Pauline Drobney, USFWS Region 3 Zone Biologist stationed at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge

- "Collecting Modern Prairie History" presented by Jean Eells, owner of E Resources Group

Proceeds from the 18th IPN SILENT AUCTION * will support two projects:
- The Drake University Prairie Rescue and Restoration Internships (Rosburg's Weekend Warriors), and
- IPN Scholarships to help young people attend prairie conferences

Pizza will be ordered for attendees wanting to stay and visit following the meeting.

Again, this event is free and open to the public - invite your friends!

* Auction items can be brought to the meeting site starting at 9:00am on Saturday the 28th. PLEASE CONTACT Laura Norian at lkbnorian AT mac.com regarding your donation and for more information. Drop off sites are available in Ames and Des Moines before the 27th.
