2020 Ossabaw Island Pig Roast & Art Auction held on Ossabaw Island. Saturday, October 24, 2020 THE DAY’S EVENTS: Travel by boat to Ossabaw Island at your scheduled boat time. Walk from Ossabaw Island’s North End Dock to the Torrey West Estate (about a 20 minute walk). Enjoy specialty cocktails on the lawn and meander through the ground floor of the 10,000 square foot Torrey West home. View and bid on a silent auction of Ossabaw-inspired artwork. The Pig Roast and Picnic, prepared by Epting Events of Athens, Georgia is served on the lawn from 12pm – 2pm, followed by a brief live auction and remarks from The Ossabaw Island Foundation. The silent auction wraps up 15 minutes after lunchtime remarks. Music by Ben & Robbie, and by Bob & Judy Williams. Transportation will be provided to the North End dock in time for your return boat. Note that Sandy West will not attend the 2020 Pig Roast. We will email to you information about the event the week before the Pig Roast, including driving instructions to Delegal Creek Marina, the departure point for the boats to Ossabaw Island. Please remember that part of the adventure is the journey. These guidelines will help the day be more enjoyable. WEATHER: The Pig Roast & Art Auction, a mostly-outdoor event, will take place RAIN or SHINE. ATTIRE: «Oyster Roast» casual attire. Walking shoes recommended. Please dress for the temperature and weather. Transportation to Ossabaw Island is by boat. Pig Roast tickets are sold/assigned for specific boat departure times. Pig Roast sponsorship offers the following transportation perks: – Early bird option to select boat depart ure times traveling to the Pig Roast. (Prior to September 1 launch of general admission tickets). – One mid-morning boat departure time designated only for sponsors and their guests. (Time TBA based on tides) – Ability to pre-select return boat times when selecting «To Ossabaw» departure times. (General public ticket holders select their return ticket times when they check in the morning of the pig roast.) Pig Roast sponsors will be listed on the invitation postcard (for $2500 giving level and higher, and if received by August 1), in the event program (for all levels, if received by September 1), on the event welcome banner (for all levels, if received by October 1), in all email correspondence, in our December newsletter, and on our website until September 2020. Funds raised at this event, our only annual fundraiser, are used to coordinate, promote and manage exceptional educational, cultural and scientific programs on Ossabaw Island.
