How cool would it be for current, alumni, and local residents to foster supportive effort twards students to graduate with good grades & healthy. As athen alumni of Medgar Evers College, I myself enjoyed traveling from building to building attending classes. In Brooklyn there are an abundant of brownstones around the campus. The highlight of many of my days were, saying hi or getting a smile from a local brownstone owner while in their property gate sprucing up. I always wondered with high optimism that many of the surrounding home owners/tenants probably attended the school before me as well as before the campus expanded. That was always a fascination while being a CUNY student because the entire city is campus. When I saw that headline in my HS college prep class booklets, it was more enticing than my initial out of city campus desire.

The management of such an event would be very dynamic than the normal sporting event. It would be great not only for runners getting the VIP treatment but spectators as well that has graduated from the campus hosting the race event. Alumni always return to campus for conferences, seminars, etc. Those graduates would probably love cheering on new students following in their footsteps.
