Apple Tree Grafting, Ogden Botanical Gardens, Thursday, 18. April 2019

Fruit trees are grafted, essentially "sticking" two trees together to form a single tree with the best flavored fruit, while also controlling tree size, disease resistance, and other desirable characteristics. USU Extension Professor Mike Pace will teach you all about why trees are grafted, when to graft, and how to do it for yourself. Class participants will be able to graft and pot up two apple trees to take home. Choose from roughly 20 different apple varieties, including modern and heirloom apples. Additional trees may be grafted for $5 per tree and can be purchased with cash or check in class as long as supplies are available (credit cards not accepted in class). This is one of our more popular classes, be sure to register early to reserve your spot.  Call 801-399-8201 or email with any questions.
