Blacksmithing 101
Introduction to the art and science of blacksmithing. Safe work habits and protective gear will be emphasized while making basic projects out of forged steel. Instruction will combine our “taste of” curriculums and focus on projects that encompass the basics of blacksmithing including: tapers, twists, hooks, and bottle openers. Students can expect to make at least two or three objects as they learn important techniques that every smith uses when stepping up to the anvil.
