Learn the basics! Work together with other University of Delaware students in fun, hands-on cooking classes led by Dining Services' chefs.
Cooking 101 is an interactive cooking class, held right on campus in our most popular dining location, taught by our very own campus chefs. Depending on which class you choose, you'll leave with a better understanding of cooking basics.
Our chefs are also available to answer any of your cooking-related questions. Space is limited and registration is required. Please select the class you would like to attend.

Thursday, October 10, 2019, 2 - 4 p.m.
Basic Pasta Sauces (Garden Fresh Tomato Marinara & Creamy Alfredo) taught by Chef Jorrell, sous chef of Pencader Dining Hall
Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 2 - 4 p.m.
Cake Decorating taught by Chef Stephanie, lead baker at Pencader Dining Hall and Chef Melissa, lead baker at Caesar Rodney Fresh Food Company

What to Expect

Classes are 2 hours and held at the Caesar Rodney Fresh Food Company
Classes are limited to 20 University of Delaware students each
You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the classes
Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, a long sleeve shirt to protect your arms and have long hair tied back
You will enjoy a generous taste of the food prepared during the classes
Each student will receive a complimentary Dining Services' Cooking 101 baseball cap
