Creation Kids, Pheasant Fields Farm, Monday, 15. July 2019

This is a day camp, 9-1 p.m. daily for 5 weekdays. It is hosted by Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church and is being done at Pheasant Fields Farm. Drop off and pick up is at the Farm.   It is open to children who are going into kindergarten through sixth grade.  Limit is 30 children.  Safe adults with background checks run the program. Teens help out the younger ones.  Each day has a different theme and lesson about God's providence revealed through plants and animals (Especially those on the farm!), There are " hands on lessons" with plants and farm animals. Crafts, games and play supplement the lessons in fun and learning. Our responsibility for creation is woven througout . especially culminating in Green Friday..  Monday: God creates life: It begins with learning that God created the world and man and woman in his image. We have rooted plants, but also baby chicks to explain the life cycles of Chicks, with fertilized eggs in different stages . Tuesday: Bees: How God sustains life: Bee keeper shares his trade, how bees keep us alive, dos and don't in keeping pollinators alive in our world. (No live Bees present) Wednesday: God's providence, he feeds us: Threshing real wheat, grinding and baking wheat bread. Thursday: God's providence: Clothing: Friendly Angora and  pigmy goat visits with children making their own woven art, weaving different hair from different hair baring animals. Green Friday culminates in our responisiblity for caring for the earth and it's creatures. We learn ways to conserve and care for our resources and make homemade icecream for our party.
