Try Your Hand at Solving the Puzzle!
Enjoy a Day in the Life of an Analyst!
Ready to serve as a Cyber Analyst to keep our country safe? Like to problem solve and put pieces of information together? If your answer is yes, then join us for a day of fun at either or both of our Cyber Academies! Each academy will have a new and different problem to solve!
July 11, 2019
Attend at the DARS Fairfax Office from 8:45 am - 3:30 pm
How does Cyber Academy work? Each Student serves as a Homeland Security Analyst would, sorting through information to determine threats towards the USA. Students are given a scenario about an incident that took place, and updates with information that may be related to the incident. Updates will include distribution of a large quantity of information to analysts, some in paper format and some electronically, that they must split up between their team. Students work through the information, share it with teammates, and look for important details and connections. Teams work together to solve the problem. At the end of the scenario, each team presents a briefing with who they think caused the incident, why they did it, and what the US response should be.
Tuition is being sponsored by DBVI and DARS for students accepted into the academies.   The classroom day is from 8:45am- 3:30pm. Students may arrive as early as 8:30am. Please see additional information below on what to bring.
