Llani, a globally-inspired shoe collection, is the result of a partnership between a seasoned shoe designer, Alana Oates, and a coterie of immensely talented artisans & craftsmen she has met while working in india. “Llani” is the designer’s childhood nickname. Our slippers, flats, and slides are hand-crafted with a touch of luxurious coziness that takes the edge off your day. Llani is made with our design and production partners in india. The factories we work with are female founded or family owned, and we ensure that female workers have strong leadership roles at each factory. We take great care to work with only high-quality materials such as leather, suede, and genuine shearling. We maintain close working relationships with our vendors. our embellishments — beading, trims, and motifs, are delicately created by hand. Due to the handcrafted nature of our product, every shoe in the line is one of a kind.
Alana has over ten years of accessories design experience, helming the women’s shoe collections for independent and major retailers. Most recently, she was the lead designer for Old Navy’s women’s footwear collection. Prior to that, she designed private label brands for Anthropologie, creating their highest selling collection to date. She is currently designing a capsule collection of embellished slippers called Llani, inspired by her travels in India. She holds a BFA in fashion design from Moore College of Art & Design.
Alice Alexander is led by designer and founder Mary Alice Duff. Frustrated with her own experiences shopping for high-quality, ethically-made, size-inclusive clothing, Mary Alice took up sewing as a way to improve her own wardrobe. Realizing she had a knack for blending fabrication, silhouette and fit, and getting compliments from strangers on a near daily basis, Mary Alice realized there was a business in her new hobby. While working full-time in the nonprofit sector Mary Alice enrolled in design classes to refine her craft and gain the skills necessary to launch the brand Alice Alexander.
Originally launched in September 2017 out of the third floor of Mary Alice's Philadelphia home with nothing but a handful of patterns, fabrics, a simple sewing machine and internet connection, Alice Alexander has now expanded into a fast-growing business with customers around the world.
Based in East Falls, Philadelphia, Alice Alexander headquarters is home to a combined production studio and retail space, top of the line industrial sewing equipment and a team of 5.

The event is being held in "The Workshop" at BOK. Please use the entrance at 821 Dudley Street.
