We are pleased to announce our fourth annual research conference will be held as a virtual event over two half days. This conference will be live and include COVID-19 research, as well as mental health, primary care, addictions, dementia, local health priorities, and staff development and support. It will also be a chance to hear from those who have taken part in research and how it has changed their lives.
Who should attend: Anyone interested in health research in our region - e.g. Trust staff, commissioners, GPs, social services, Hull York Medical School and other local HEIs, voluntary organisations, Clinical Research Network partners, local media, those accessing Trust services, other stakeholders.
Why: Hull's year of the City of Culture may be over but we are still ‘Developing a City of Research’ (and across our whole Trust geographical patch). Following the success of our last three conferences we aim to showcase even more local, national and international research our Trust is involved in, the potential for future collaborations and new areas of research, demonstrate the benefits of research for our community and to encourage more health care professionals to offer opportunities for people to become involved in research studies.
Confirmed speakers to date include the following, with others to be announced very soon:
Prof Anthony Avery, Professor of Primary Care, University of Nottingham
Prof Shanaya Rathod, Consultant Psychiatrist & Director of Research, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
Stephen Lock, (Interim) Chief Information and Technology Officer, NIHR Clinical Research Network
Dr Soraya Mayet, Consultant Psychiatrist, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust
