About this Event

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust presents 'Developing a City of Research IV', Virtual Research Conference 2020

Time: 13:30 -16:30 (Tues) & 09:30-12:30 (Wed)

Venue: Virtual (online)

We are pleased to announce our fourth annual research conference will be held as a virtual event over two half days. This conference will be live and include COVID-19 research, as well as mental health, primary care, addictions, dementia, local health priorities, and staff development and support. It will also be a chance to hear from those who have taken part in research and how it has changed their lives.

Who should attend: Anyone interested in health research in our region - e.g. Trust staff, commissioners, GPs, social services, Hull York Medical School and other local HEIs, voluntary organisations, Clinical Research Network partners, local media, those accessing Trust services, other stakeholders.

Why: Hull's year of the City of Culture may be over but we are still ‘Developing a City of Research’ (and across our whole Trust geographical patch). Following the success of our last three conferences we aim to showcase even more local, national and international research our Trust is involved in, the potential for future collaborations and new areas of research, demonstrate the benefits of research for our community and to encourage more health care professionals to offer opportunities for people to become involved in research studies.

Confirmed speakers to date include the following, with others to be announced very soon:

Prof Anthony Avery, Professor of Primary Care, University of Nottingham

Prof Shanaya Rathod, Consultant Psychiatrist & Director of Research, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust

Stephen Lock, (Interim) Chief Information and Technology Officer, NIHR Clinical Research Network

Dr Soraya Mayet, Consultant Psychiatrist, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

Alison Williams, Occupational Therapist, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Rebekah Carney, Research Associate, Youth Mental Health Research Unit Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Claire Marshall, Perinatal Mental Health Specialist Nurse, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Jane Wray, Director of Research, University of Hull

Dr Mark Wilberforce, Senior Research Fellow, University of York

This event is eligible for CPD hours (subject to peer group approval) and attendance certificates will be available on request.

Final conference programme will be available in due course.
