Diplomat Luncheon with Consul General Sanjay Panda of India, World Affairs, Monday, 18. March 2019

Amb. Sanjay Panda is an Indian diplomat and member of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) who now serves as the Consul General of India in San Francisco with jurisdiction covering 11 states ( including Alaska and Hawaii) and the Federal Territory of Guam. Prior to taking over the post in November 2018, he was the Indian High Commissioner to the Seychelles until November 2016 before returning to India and taking over as Joint Secretary (Indian Ocean Region) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
Amb. Sanjay Panda joined the IFS in 1991. He has served at the Indian missions in Belgium, Jordan, France and Malaysia. He was the Deputy Chief of Mission in Tokyo, Japan, from 2010 to 2014 before moving to the Seychelles on his assignment as the Head of Mission. He has also served as Under Secretary/Deputy Secretary for Nepal at the Foreign Ministry during 1998-2000, and as Director (China) during 2008-2009. He speaks French and several Indian languages.
