Donations in Honor of Helen Roe Jackson, Online, Monday, 03. February 2020
About this Event
Helen Roe Jackson (July 2nd 1955 - January 30th, 2020), bounced into the world and into the arms of Charles, Evelyn, and later Gene Roe of Conroe, Texas. She spent summers as a child swimming, horseback riding, teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding. Helen's love for the South continued as she pursued both her Bachelor's and Master's in Teaching at Louisiana State University (LSU) at Baton Rouge. This began Helen's lifelong love of being an LSU tiger that continued the rest of her life.
In 1982, Helen welcomed her son, Justin, followed by the birth of Brandon and Shannon. After bouncing around the South, they landed in the Central Coast of California in the late 1980s. This would remain Helen's home for the remainder of her life. The 1990s saw Helen teaching at Ocean View and the birth of two more daughters, Kyndal and Haili. Helen continued her teaching career in special education at Mesa Middle School before retiring. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening, renovating her Nipomo property, working with children with Autism, and walking about with her pup, Josie and partner-in-crime Hardy. Helen had a joy that was contagious and befriended those all around her.
Helen is survived by her five children and five grandchildren. Her family has requested that donations be made in her honor to the Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center
