Course Summary:
Dramatic changes in indirect restorations offer our profession with many new options as well as challenges. Correct application of these new technologies, materials and techniques have the potential for drastic improvement in the quality (accuracy) and esthetics (mimicking natural dentition) for all anterior and posterior restorations. These new options have different handling characteristics that are far different from conventional systems. 
This presentation provides a comprehensive evaluation of these advances in crown and bridge restorations, materials and related technologies. We will discuss their pros, cons, and best clinical applications. 

Course Presenter:
Dr. Mohsen Taleghani Is a Professor and Head of the Department of General Dentistry at Texas A&M University  College of Dentistry.

Dr. Taleghani maintains a part-time private dental practice in Dallas, Texas, with special emphasis on esthetics.

Impression with conventional materials and optical
Soft tissue management
Fabrication, materials and new cements for provisional restoration
Wol-ceram and Capteck restorations
Pressed ceramics, Lucite and lithium disilicate (e.max)
Zirconia, monolithic and veneered restorations
Press ceramic over metal or zirconia restorations
CAD-CAM technology for the dental office and laboratory
Post and core strategies
Shade selection systems
Application of new adhesive cement systems

Credit: 7 hours lecture/participation.  This course is intended for dentists and specialists interested in updating their knowledge on crown and bridge techniques and materials.  In addition, this course may be taken by dental auxiliaries who need additional information regarding crown and bridge materials and methods.  The teaching methods include lecture, demonstration, video, and laboratory hands on for actual experience with tooth preparation and materials.
