Farm Fresh Fiesta with Stony Ridge Farms, Lenexa Public Market, Saturday, 27. July 2019

Learn how to prepare your own backyard fiesta! The class is taught by local farmers Bernie and Debbie Antes; owners of Stony Ridge Farms. The class will utilize ingredients fresh from their farm, including their farm raised beef. Class begins with a delicious homemade Mexican Queso dip. For the main course, we’ll prepare an incredible juicy, and tender barbacoa beef - in the instant pressure cooker (a slow cooker version is included) - to be used in street tacos. We’ll accompany those tacos with a roasted fiesta corn salad with homemade habanero honey vinaigrette. For a sweet end to the evening, you'll learn how make, mouth-watering churro cupcakes with a cinnamon buttercream frosting. Participants will be invited to assist in parts of the meal preparation if they desire. Everyone will enjoy a full meal and take home recipes for all of its components.
About the Instructors
Bernie and Debbie Antes are owners of Stony Ridge Farms in McLouth, Ks; a small - yet diversified - husband and wife venture. They run a cow calf operation, raising 100% grass fed and grass finished beef. They raise chickens for non-GMO, farm fresh brown eggs. Debbie and her dad also keep bees and harvest honey. Stony Ridge Farms has an orchard with cherries, apricots, plums, apples, pears, blackberries and gooseberries. You can find all these (in season) goods at the Tuesday morning Lenexa Famers Market.
