We will do a short movement lesson, called 'Awareness Through Movement'. These group classes are part of the Feldenkrais somatic method of movement intelligence .
You will gently explore different movement patterns, experience mindfulness in motion, connect to your body and find calm. As you dive into our sensations, strain melts away to reveal more freedom, options and ease.
Expect reduced tension and a more flowing, skillful, pleasurable sense of moving.For all
All are welcome. It is suitable even if you are recovering from pain or injury. We will do a mini lesson mainly lying down. You can use props to be comfortable and warm - mat, rug, blanket, folded towel under head or for padding, blocks, books… Ask me for ideas.There will be time for questions about how this method might suit you, how it can be adapted if you have discomfort, to find out about self-care and to hear your responses to the short lesson.Live streamed
The session is live streamed to your own home, using Zoom, a video calling program. After registering, I will guide you through getting set up with it, if it is your first time. Then, the day before the session, I will email you with joining instructions and your Zoom link to click and join.
This format works very well – I can see you (if you choose) and give individual cues to keep everyone on track. In your own space you can sink into your own experience. People can come together to share comments at the end if they wish.Bonus audio recording
I will send you an audio recording of the lesson afterwards. This way, you can re-play parts or all of the session later. You will be able to get to know the lesson and track changes and improvements over time. I will be happy to answer questions by email after the event.
