Please join us on June 18, 2019, for a wild and wonderful experience of wildflower flower arranging.
Flower Arranging and Managing Treatment & Side Effects
Did you know that beauty can be found in chaos? It all depends on how you choose to arrange it. This month, participants have the opportunity to tame the wild, by creating a flower arrangement consisting of Central Alabama’s most stunning wildflowers. Participants are asked to bring their own vases*, allowing them to recreate stunning arrangements at home. Participants will learn about the benefits of flower arranging in regards to improving fine and gross motor skills. Participants will also learn about how to manage or prevent the side effects of treatment including lymphedema, muscle weakness, and neuropathy. Master Gardeners will guide participants as they arrange their very own wildflower masterpiece. These arrangements are guaranteed to be the focal point of an interesting conversation!
To reserve your place, we request a $5 reservation fee. Scholarships are available; for more information please contact Forge at 205-838-6159.
Hosted by Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and Birmingham Botanical Gardens; Forge's monthly classes are for anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as their loved ones and the healthcare professionals that serve them.
