High-Risk / Unknown Risk Vehicle Stop & Suppresion Tactics (HRURV) ABSTRACT This program encompasses multiple aspects associated with unknown risk and high-risk felony vehicle stops in which situational awareness, vehicle control, tactics, and proper judgment are required to ensure the safety of the public, the suspect, and the officers. This 3-day course, delivered in a train the trainer format, prepares the student not just to mitigate the hazards inherent in this type of activity, but to dominate and control these extraordinary situations, maximizing officer safety and subject control. This program also covers specific vehicle defense and close quarters techniques in the event the stop escalates into a deadly force situation. The course begins with individual skills training and culminates with the students participating in a variety of scenarios designed to evaluate and elevate individual skills, tactics, judgment, and overall success. Students in this program should expect to participate in force on force drills during scenario exercises as well as physical force associated with restraining a non-compliant suspect. PREREQUISITES Currently, this course is restricted to law enforcement, military and security personnel ONLY. Individuals who are involved in the training of law enforcement, military and security personnel are eligible to attend. There are no other pre-requisites to this course.
