Injury Prevention & Recovery for Peak Performance in Gymnastics, LJ Performance Training, Saturday, 13. April 2019

Medalist Performance™ draws on many years of experience in competitive gymnastics, NASA’s astronaut exercise research and development program, the state-of-the-art literature in sport science, and elite performance coaching to help athletes achieve peak physical and mental performance. This hands-on workshop will cover fundamentals of injury prevention and training recovery techniques for peak performance in gymnastics. Specific attention will be given to:

Injury recovery & prevention: Promotes an enjoyable and prolonged athletic career
Optimizing training recovery: Helps athletes make optimal performance gains
Improving flexibility and mobility: Fundamental for executing skills with proper form

Parents and guardians of young gymnasts are also encouraged to register for the workshop. It is part of our core mission to educate parents and guardians on how they can appropriately support their child to correctly and diligently apply the injury prevention and recovery techniques for optimal benefits.

The Instructor: Lealem Mulugeta, MS, CSCS, CMC
Lealem worked at NASA as a Project Scientist where he directed a team of experts to develop and apply novel technologies to preserve the health and performance of astronauts. He also collaborates with other government, academic and private institutions to translate his unique expertise to enable precision healthcare, and preserve human health and performance under demanding work conditions. He also coaches Police SWAT operators, Military Officer and Special Operations candidates, executives and elite athletes. By combining his wider range of technical and coaching expertise, Lealem has developed techniques to alleviate musculoskeletal injuries rapidly and promote peak performance. He also holds the following degrees and certifications/training.
