Kim Lacy: "Creating Texture in Quilting", Fort Collins Senior Center, Tuesday, 13. April 2021
In June we will welcome back a former RMCQ member, Kim Lacy. Kim is a self-taught artist who started quilting in 1976 while on maternity leave. She started as a traditional quilter but started experimenting with art quilts in the 1990s. Her work is inspired by nature with landscapes, trees, leaves, cranes and ammonites being the subjects of her quilts. She uses many techniques in her quilting including painting, mono-printing, stenciling, strip piecing and applique. Kim has won many awards including first place in the Painted Surface category at the 2018 Houston International Quilt Festival for her “Copper Enamel Ammonite”. The subject of her talk will be “Creating Texture in Quilting”.
