Kitchen Table Talks: Thriving as a Single Mom, New Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, 24. August 2019

As part of the new My Sister’s Keeper initiative from the Center of Excellence in Faith and Health Equity at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, we will host a on the topic "Thriving as a Single Mom." Clarissa Joi, founder of Rise Up Single Mom, will lead the discussion. Rise Up Single Mom is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide financial assistance, network resources, and community support to working single mothers who aspire to not only survive life, but to thrive in life.
My Sister's Keeper prioritizes the voices, perspectives, and wisdom of black women to address health disparities that affect black women, and celebrates a holistic, faith-based vision of healing. This event is the first in a series of "Kitchen Table Talks," a culturally relevant and historic community-defined practice of creating safe spaces for the exploration of significant issues impacting the health of black women.
