ATHE 10 CITIES WE VISIT EVERY MONTH:

FOOD TRUCK APPLICATION:

TRUCKS WE WORK WITH: We work with a small collection of 39 food trucks we hand-select to present in our partner cities. We don't work with most trucks because most trucks don't meet our basic ethical, behavioral and culinary standards. If a truck wants to be approved, we conduct menu evaluations. Most trucks don’t pass even that small inspection. If they do pass that, the truck conducts a taste test with a ten-person sample group made up of people from different ages sexes, nationalities and levels of food knowledge. If a truck is accepted, we watch the truck for customer issues, food or interpersonal problems and remove the ones that don't live up to our expectations.

ABOUT THE DAILY CITY: TheDailyCity.com is Orlando's longest running independent local news blog with 10,000 Orlando stories and 10 years in business. In 2011, they created their signature event, The Daily City's Food Truck Bazaat. They've done it over 800 times and bring it to 10 cities every month.

HISTORY: In 2009, Mark Baratelli created Taco Truck Taste Test, a monthly food truck meet-up and TheDailyCity.com Mobile Art Show, a monthly art show in a moving van. In 2010, he wrote about ****'s Kitchen Food Truck Bazaar and suggested someone bring the idea to Orlando. No one did. In January 2011, someone suggested we do an event like the ones in Miami. Mark did it on March 29, 2011: Orlando's first food truck event. Later that year, he had the idea to take the event on the road, which no one in the country had ever done.
