MBSR ALL DAY Retreat with Cultivate, Root Studio, Saturday, 10. August 2019

A 7-hour silent retreat for current students and previous graduates of an 8-week in-person Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course. Program will include various meditations, mindful movement, mindful eating, and group discussion. Please bring a packed lunch; limited facilities are available for food prep. Also feel free to bring blankets, meditation cushions or benches if you wish to use them. Chairs and yoga mats will be provided.The course is included if you are already registered for the 8-Week MBSR class with Root Studio. This registration is for former MBSR graduates who wish to join for the All Day Retreat for the 8-Week Course are available at be a graduate of a previous MBSR email: shannon@cultivate.gg with details of your most recent MBSR class and for any questions regarding this retreat.

Shannon M Whitaker is a former Coast Guard helicopter pilot and current mindfulness coach. She is interested in translating the sometimes mystical-language of ancient contemplative traditions for modern inquisitors. Her teaching style is friendly, lighthearted, and a little bit irreverent. She is a Provisionally Qualified MBSR teacher with UCSD. Her understanding of what Mindfulness is and why we should be doing it is informed by degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Philosophy, by her studies of Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University, and by several decades at the School of Hard Knocks.
