2020 Mental Health Support Group (MHSG)
The incident of the COVID -19 pandemic is a challenging and unprecedented global occurrence. The pandemic is impacting our mental health in diverse ways. Despite the preventive benefits of self-quarantining and social distancing, these are a threat to mental health. Other threats include loss of loved ones, loss of jobs and business, after effect trauma, stress, fear, anxiety, depression, and more. In response to these issues posed by these threats, Comfort Foundation is offering a mental health support forum. 2020 Mental Health Support Group (MHSG) aims to alleviate suffering, promote positive health outcomes, motivate self-empowerment, promote self-esteem, promote connection, and enhance the quality of life. MHSG is open to the general public on Saturdays 01:00 pm-02:00 pm Central Time US time.
Goal/Objectives: MHSG will provide an opportunity for the general public to learn strategies that boost mental health. Secondly, the participants will have the opportunity to share personal and professional experiences. Strategies that mitigate negative outcomes will also be explored.
Participation is voluntary and free. To maintain confidentiality, only registered participants will receive a zoom link to participate. Participations are responsible to protect their privacy. All sessions will be recorded for future references and to continue the conversation on media platforms. The recorded session will be available to anyone. Participants will complete short surveys periodically to provide feedback to help enhance quality and performance. Signing means the participants have agreed to the terms of participation and will not hold Comfort Foundation accountable for a breach of confidentiality or privacy of any kind.

This support group is open to the general public
Does the group meet for a set period of time or does it continue indefinitely?
The meeting is virtually on Saturdays 1 pm to 2 pm Central US time. This virtual meeting will continue until further notice.
Where does the group meet? Virtual (Zoom- teleconferencing technology) with a combination of presentation, discussion, chat, and Q&A

What are the guidelines for confidentiality? Participation is based on registration. Only registered participants receive a zoom registration link. Participants are free to exist in the group anytime with no prior notice.
Are there established ground rules for group participation? Yes. Individual space is allowed. Conversations must be positive. All participants must be courteous and respectful. Ground rules will be updated as needed.
What is a typical meeting like? 15mins presentation followed with 40 minutes discussion with Q & As.
