Metro Parks Disabilities "A Magical Night", Father Ryan High School, Saturday, 23. November 2019

If you want to make a difference in the world, then you must be different in the world. That is exactly what is happening at Metro Parks disABILITIES Programs’ Gala featuring a “Songs Through Sign” performance. On Saturday, November 23rd, MPDP participants will take the stage at the Father Ryan High School Theater. This show has two purposes: (1) to showcase the talents and abilities of adults with disabilities and (2) to raise money to provide expanded programming for individuals with Intellectual & Developmental disABILITIES. At this event, there will be sign language, magic, dancing, and even a special appearance by MPDP’s Cheerleaders. In addition to the show, there will be hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and a silent auction. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards programming for the Metro Parks’ disABILITIES Programs. Metro Parks disABILITIES Programs are a collection of programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The largest program, a day program for adults, operates Monday-Thursday from 9:00-3:00. In the program, they participate in various activities ranging from training for sports, arts & crafts, music, drama, fitness classes, and much more. This program is also associated with national programs such as Best Buddies and Special Olympics. This program was not only designed to provide individuals with disabilities with a way of life but also a way to live out their dreams.
