MIRC Literacy Coach Re-Boot Camp 2019

UCF Morgridge International Reading Center College of Community Innovation and Education Annual Literacy Coaching Reboot Camp June 10th – 14th, 2019 To improve transdisciplinary literacy acquisition and multi-sensory instruction in a school, coaches and teacher leaders must work with administrators and teacher-colleagues to develop a common language and plan for coherent instruction. This reboot camp is designed to help coaches and teacher leaders develop communication skills to work with teacher-colleagues and work through adaptive challenges. Teacher leaders will learn how to use professional resources to improve student-centered coaching practices on a continuum of professional learning opportunities. Reboot camp benefits: • Examine the role of the coach as a catalyst for teacher leadership in collaboration with administration. • Engage teacher-colleagues on the effectiveness of multi-sensory transdisciplinary literacy instruction. • Design effective student-centered coaching cycles with teacher-colleagues. • Employ generative student-centered coaching on a continuum of professional learning opportunities. • Use student-centered language that promotes transdisciplinary literacy acquisition and instruction. • Use professional resources effectively to support student-centered multi-sensory instruction. • Investigate multi-tiered systems of support that promote transdisciplinary literacy acquisition. Intensive 5-day training which includes materials, breakfast, lunch, UCF parking, and a Certificate of Participation.
