National Aquarium $1 Admission with Baltimore Dollar Days, US, Saturday, 09. December 2017

In the spirit of the Holidays, Baltimore area attractions will open their doors the weekend of December 9 & 10, 2017 and offer free or $1 admission.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore, considered one of the top aquariums in the world, is participating in the “Baltimore Dollar (Or Less) Days.” Therefore, admission will be $1, compared to the usual admission prices: Adults: $39.95; Children (3-11): $24.95; and Seniors (65+): $34.95. Let’s go for a visit together on Saturday, December 9.

The National Aquarium (formerly known originally as the Baltimore Aquarium when it opened in 1981, then shortly later as the National Aquarium in Baltimore) is a non-profit public aquarium located at 501 East Pratt Street on Pier 3 in the Inner Harbor area of downtown Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. Constructed during a period of urban renewal in Baltimore, the aquarium opened on August 8, 1981. The aquarium has an annual attendance of 1.5 million visitors and is the largest tourism attraction in the State of Maryland. The Aquarium holds more than 2,200,000 US gallons (8,300,000 l) of water, and has more than 17,000 specimens representing over 750 species. The National Aquarium's mission is to inspire conservation of the world's aquatic treasures. The aquarium's stated vision is to confront pressing issues facing global aquatic habitats through pioneering science, conservation, and educational programming.

Important Event Details

Registration: No advanced ticket purchase is available - we’ll just show up and get in line. This event is open to the general public and all are welcome including children and groups.

Weather: This event is indoors and will thus take place rain or shine.

Parking: There is paid parking throughout the area. Although the Aquarium does not operate its own parking facility, they have two official parking partners nearby. Tickets pulled from both Lockwood Place (124 Market Place) & the LAZ Inner Harbor Garage 100 South Gay Street,) can be validated for a discount to Aquarium guests.

Meeting Point: The aquarium doesn’t open until 10:00 but we need to get in line early. Therefore, let’s plan on arriving at 9:00 am sharp in order to get our $1 passes before the masses arrive. Meet outside the main aquarium entrance ticket counter.

How to Find Our Group: Look for our hosts Robert and Michele, a Meetup sign, or people with Meetup stickers, which we’ll hand out.

If You Arrive Late: No “taking cuts” in line to join our group that arrived at 9:00am. If you arrive late just meet us inside. We’ll post our location in the comments section of the event description.

Aquarium Sections To Be Visited: You are welcome to tour the aquarium with your hosts Robert and Michele, or venture off on your own. We estimate we’ll stay at the aquarium until approximately 1:00 pm but you are welcome to stay for as long as you like.

Post Event: After spending some time in the aquarium we’ll visit some of the other attractions participating in the Baltimore Dollar (Or Less) Days - those additional events are listed separately.
