Being able to tell your story and be persuasive in a clear way that will hold your audience captive is an absolute survival skill in business, whether you’re pitching ideas, products, your company, or yourself. What you need to do is structure and deliver your story in a very simple, straightforward way that reels people in, makes them care deeply about your topic, and gets them craving to hear what you’re offering. This applies to any delivery method – when writing, speaking one-on-one, or presenting to a group.

Topics and Activities
Throughout the workshop, we’ll watch and analyze videos of hilariously bad and inspiringly good pitches, talk and ideate, have various working sessions, do lots of practicing, enjoy a lot of laughs and shared experiences, and have fun improving our pitching skills. We’ll cover these topics, give you lots of time to apply them to your own pitch, and offer you expert feedback in real-time:

Pitching and presenting pitfalls to avoid
The Why/What/How Message Framework that reels your audience in and has them begging to hear about your offering before you’ve even mentioned it
Techniques for developing hooks that grab your audience’s attention within the first few seconds of your pitch and continuously reel them in as you tell your story
Methods of incorporating jaw-dropping visuals, demos, props and other sensory experiences into any presentation that will make it incredibly effective and memorable
Presentation delivery techniques that will enable you to connect with and have a powerful, persuasive impact on your audience
Working sessions in which you apply all of these techniques and tools to your own pitch or presentation
Numerous practice sessions in which you deliver portions of your pitch to a practice audience and receive encouraging feedback on how to make it even better

Based on tools from the groundbreaking Apollo Method for Market Dominance, this fun, entertaining yet practical workshop will leave you inspired and with an actionable plan you can start implementing immediately.

Hydration: Please bring a water bottle for your personal use throughout the day.
Food and Beverage: We will provide coffee, hot tea, and light snacks in the morning. We will provide a boxed lunch and work straight through. If you have special dietary restrictions/allergies, please consider bringing a lunch.
Attire: Dress comfortably - this is a very fun and lively, interactive session that will have you up on your feet and moving around a bit.
Notes: Please bring pen and paper for note taking.

Parking and Transportation

The Embarcadero Center is in the downtown San Francisco Financial District.
Please consider taking public transit.
The BART Embarcadero Station is a five-minute walk from the workshop location.
For Peninsula residents taking Caltrain, consider transferring to BART in Millbrae (very short walk between stations)
If you drive, get all-day parking in a garage. Meters on the street have very restricted durations and will not suffice for this event.
The Embarcadero Center Early Bird parking flat rate is $20 if you arrive before 9:00 am.
There are additional parking garages in the area, often with a similar Early Bird arrival time and rate. This site and others will show you available garages in the area, though you don't necessarily need to pay and book in advance. An Early Bird arrival will usually result in available space.
