Recording & Resources of Webinar: "Pre-departure" during COVID-19, Online, Friday, 15. May 2020
About this Event
Thank you for your interest in purchasing a pre-recorded video of the webinar "Pre-Departure" During COVID-19: Online tools & activities for continued Intercultural Learning organized by the AF Center for Intercultural Learning and Global Competence Education.
COVID-19 means rethinking almost everything we know about international education. In this new virtual-for-now reality, how do we best support our students with upcoming plans for intercultural learning and study abroad? What does “pre-departure” mean when you can’t depart? How can we ensure that this extra layer of uncertainty means more, not less learning?
Whether your students are planning on going abroad in the near future, participating in virtual exchange, or preparing to engage in an online or in-person learning program during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, this interactive webinar will equip international educators with practical online-adapted intercultural tools and activities to prepare your students for engaging and collaborating effectively across differences and navigating new experiences.
Participants will not only gain sample “pre-departure” online tools and activities targeting the development of specific intercultural competencies, but they will leave with a better understanding of designing an effective online and in-person intercultural learning workshop grounded in best practices and research. Participants will also learn about one of the latest online blended learning programs for facilitating students’ continued intercultural competence development at home or abroad.
