About this Event
Self-compassion for life and all its challenges
This session is led by Caroline Rice-Varian, an NHS Psychological Therapist, Mindfulness & Self-compassion teacher.
Self-compassion in short is a sense of kindness, and gentleness we would have towards a friend in need but directed towards ourselves. Research has shown that self-compassion greatly enhances emotional wellbeing, boosting happiness, reducing anxiety and depression. Our levels of stress are likely to be higher and our nervous system, in a heightened state as our world is surrounded by illness and suffering especially so during the current world wide health situation. Cultivating a kind and friendly attitude to ourselves may help us to reduce stress and increase our feelings of resilience, safety and security.
I look forward to introducing you to a variety of mindful self compassion practices old and new. From the short practice such as the self-compassion break to the more traditional loving kindness practice. Each weekly session will be slightly different but still focused on Self-compassion for Life and all its challenges.
I look forward to meeting you online at my weekly, Wednesday lunchtime 12.30 – 1pm session
