Shanti Hot Yoga Live Interactive 26&2 Class, Online, Saturday, 23. May 2020
About this Event
This 26&2 Yoga class is an all levels yoga class that includes 26 asanas (postures) and two pranayamas (breathing exercises). It is a progressive workout where each posture stretches and strengthens the muscles, ligaments, and joints needed for the next posture in the series. You might find it challenging at first and then addictively enjoyable! The consistency of the poses will take you into a moving meditation while strengthening, detoxifying, and opening your entire body.
In line with tradition, postures are held for a set period of time. The beauty of this evolved set sequence is its ability to prepare students bodies for the more advanced postures that come while still fostering breath awareness, focus, strength, and flexibility. Through this intuitive approach, each pose feels more organic and less of a struggle for the body. This mindful, contemporary take is meant to bring students a strong foundation to cultivate Sthira (Steadiness), Sukha (Ease), and Shanti (Peace).
Class is 60 minutes long.
I have devoted my life’s work to creating an all encompassing Yogic lifestyle. Between teaching publicly, hosting international retreats, creating a kids after-school program, private work with professional athletes, corporate wellness initiatives, music festivals, my knowledge is vast and I provide all walks of people with a great sense of comfort.
Here is a little about your teacher Kari:
I am a vibrant, tenacious, and gregarious human, always searching and striving to learn more, so I can be the most effective teacher possible. My style of teaching is mechanical and super anatomically driven. I'm extremely compassionate, but always demanding. I firmly believe that your breath is guiding you. It's always breath first, form second, and the two together will unlock the magic of your practice. I teach my classes based on the functionality of the bodies that surround me. Being very hands-on keeps me deeply rooted in alignment, focusing heavily on cues and subtle nuances that start to shape-shift one's physical practice.
As a student who remains forever interested in her practice, I require that same inquisitiveness from the people who honor me with the duty of teaching them.
