About this Event
Begin addressing your stress and tension with a Deep Relaxation practice that blends breath, sound and gentle yoga shapes. Feel free to turn the heat on in your house to warm yourself up for this class. Teachers guide each student through a series shapes that are supported by bolsters, blankets and blocks to encourage a progressive state of relaxation that can be carried off the mat and into daily life. Regular practice imparts the ability to repeatedly relax on purpose which allows tension to dissolve on the mat, bringing the nervous system back into balance and restoring an innate sense of wellbeing. No yoga experience is necessary, merely a willingness to breathe.

How it Works
Register for class on our website ShantiHotYoga.com or on the Shanti Hot Yoga app in the Google Play or Apple App store.
Please have Zoom downloaded on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone as the class is hosted through zoom.
You'll receive a link within an hour of the start time of class which is the link to open the class when it's time. Arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the start of class to introduce yourself. During the class, we ask you to keep your mic on mute so everyone clearly hears the instructor. After class feel free to speak to the group!
Position your mat so the instructor can fully see you and support you during your practice.
Check that you're in a room with enough space to practice, good internet, and consider headphones to better hear and concentrate on the experience.
Props needed: One Mat, 2 or more blocks, a strap, weights (Barre and Sculpt), and a blanket to pad your knees or sit on.
A bolster/blocks/rolled-up blanket is always nice under your knees or on top of your pelvis for savasana.
Props are available for pickup from our local studio in Culver City.

Here is a little about your teacher Jackson:
Jackson brings a rare maturity and depth of life experience to his teaching. Taught and mentored by globally recognized teachers – Mia Togo, Jillian Pransky, David Kim & Jasmine Lieb in Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative & Therapeutics – Jackson has amassed over 700 hours of formal training along with countless hours of study home & abroad, as well as assisting master teachers in a myriad of settings. Jackson is a retired professional cyclist & NYC branding & creative exec who understands that body, mind & spirit are one.
