We will depart at dusk to undertake the eerie task of uncovering Memphis’ haunted past of death, hoodoo, voodoo, brothels, prohibition, gunned down gamblers, homicidal hangouts and haunted halls, rooms and alley ways. Along our dark path we will visit a menagerie of Memphis’ most menacing locales… many of them holding historical significance in «our realm» as well…like the Lorriane Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated or Earnestine & Hazel’s, known by ghost seekers world-wide as the «most haunted bar in America». Highlights along the way include the legendary one and only «Home of Blues» aka the Devil’s music – BEALE STREET, the World Famous PEABODY HOTEL, «America’s Most Haunted Bar» – EARNESTINE & HAZEL’S, one of our city’s earliest brothels – the PONTOTOC, the Yellow Fever’s» – DEADMANS ALLEY, the site of Dr. King’s assassination – the LORRIANE MOTEL, Memphis’ only Civil War battlefield – on the mighty Mississippi.
