Course Presenter:   Dr.  David Grogan, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. David Grogan,  Is a past Associate Professor and Past Chairman in the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Pharmacology here at Baylor College of Dentistry.  He graduated from Baylor in 1981 and received an MSD degree in Oral Surgery in 1986.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.  After completion of his residency training, Dr. Grogan entered private practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon in Waco, Texas. He was an important participant in designing the new sedation and emergency guidelines for Texas dentists, on behalf of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.  In 2003 & 2010, Dr. Grogan was voted “Teacher of the Year” by the undergraduate dental students.  The teaching methods used for this program will include lecture and case scenarios with question and answers from the participants.  Dr. Grogan recently retired from the Texas A&M University, College of Dentistry.

 Course Objectives:
1. To review common Medical Emergencies which occur in the dental office
2.  To understand the importance of taking the medical history of the patient
3.  Prioritize what action needs to be implemented when emergencies to occur
4.  Review medications required in the emergency office kits.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION:Tuition is refundable if a course is canceled by  the Office of CE. A $50 fee will be assessed for any course  cancellation.  All payments by check or cash are deposited into the Texas A&M account  and CANNOT be refunded. “No Shows” for a course  forfeit all tuition. Confirm notification of cancellation by e-mail.The CE Office cannot be held responsible for a  non-refundable airline ticket.
