Thinking Left-Handed: The Case for Inclusive Design, McColl Center for Art + Innovation, Friday, 13. December 2019

The holiday season prompts us to think more about the people around us, particularly those we care about. If we find ourselves buying gifts, especially for folks we don't interact with on a daily basis, it can be a struggle. What do they like? What do they want or need? Would this (fill in the blank) be too much? Too little?
In a way, we **** the same challenge when designing new products, services, and programs. Unfortunately, far too often we tend to build solutions that work for us and by extension, people like us. But what about the rest? What about people who AREN'T like us?
In this edition of the Forward Faster by Design Breakfast Series, we'll explore the principles of inclusive design. We'll look at how to incorporate these principles into our work in obvious and not-so-obvious ways. We'll also discuss how learning to "think left-handed" can inspire us to design solutions that are better for everyone.
A light breakfast buffet is included with each ticket.
