Women in Sport Leadership Program, Online, Friday, 26. June 2020
About this Event
This Leisure Networks Womens Leadership Development Program has been designed to target aspiring female sporting club leaders to increase competency levels around leadership skills. The course aims to educate and increase knowledge around leadership but also encourage the participants to apply this theory into practice at their sporting clubs.
Women and girls of all ages are encouraged to apply for this course. We will have a cap of 15 on each course (2020 and 2021 intakes) totalling 30 women who will have developed skills, understanding and knowledge to take back to their sporting clubs with the overall aim of building opportunities and pathways for women and girls in the leadership teams/committees at their clubs.
The course will be delivered online and will require participants to do some reflection and provide feedback on the course content.
The format will be 6 x 2 hour sessions which will be an online forum and discussion. Between forums the participants will be given some tasks including watching videos and maybe some reading in preparation for the following session. It is an expectation that the participants will attend all 6 sessions and be active members of this inaugural program.
The cost of the program is $120 for all 6 sessions and includes all materials and resources. The program build on previous knowledge gained each week so it is very important that participants attend all session where possible.
The sessions will be held from 3pm - 5pm on the last Friday or each month starting in June and ending in November.
We hope that by the end of the course there may be an opportunity for all participants and presenters to come together in person to celebrate in a small graduation ceremony.
This program is funded by the Department of Sport and Recreation Office for Women in Sport.
