Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) is a branch of science concerned with the application of basic principles of behaviour and learning. ABA is commonly practiced as a therapeutic intervention for individuals with autism. ABA therapy applies the science of how behaviour works to real-life situations. ABA therapy programs can help:
• increase communication skills
• improve attention, social skills, memory and academics
• decrease problem behaviours
• develop positive learning behaviours
The aim of this workshop is to enable participants to better understand what ABA therapy is and provide information regarding the techniques and strategies used in ABA programs and how they can be implemented in homes, schools and the community.The workshop is suitable for parents and carers of children with autism and healthcare and education professionals.
