Inquiry Initiative Summer Institute

The Inquiry Initiative is professional development for educators from an inquiry stance held in St. Louis, Missouri.  We focus on collaborative inquiry as a learner-centered pedagogy with promise for developing communication, critical thinking, and creative thinking. Teachers will learn how to design highly engaging instruction using culturally sustaining practices to meet the needs of all learners.  Teachers will experience inquiry as a learner and have a chance to collaboratively design inquiry-based learning experiences for their students. They will also be able to inquire into their own practice to meet their own goals through practitioner inquiry and dialogue. Each year the Summer Institute has a different theme. The theme for 2020 is Show Me the World: Inquiry-based Investigations of the World to Promote Global Competence.  We learn about teaching for global readiness so that our students have the digital literacy and global competence needed to communicate and collaborate to solve the most pressing global challenges of our time.
